I've been in hiding from the blog-o-sphere for the last month or so finishing up the formal requirements of my degree here in Cambridge. It all came to a culmination yesterday with my oral defense. The result: I passed! I have to make a few corrections (mostly typos) to the body of my thesis before it's official, but I'm through the major hurdles.
While the last few weeks have been full of intense writing and studying, I have managed to fit in a few adventures, from Claire May Ball (14 June) to the Prime Meridian (26 June) to a few nights on the CHaOS Science Roadshow (2-4 July and this coming weekend, 9-11 July) to world cup fever amongst my labmates (resulting in my watching more than a few matches!). I'll share more details in later posts.
