Thanks to Becky, Jess, Lucy, Maggie and Dad for the old pants they gave me for the project!

update: a new life for old jeans
During a snowstorm 2+ years ago, I started what I called a "thrifty snowstorm craft" to give many old pairs of jeans a new life. I've worked on it on and off since then, and finally finished it last month:
update: two shirts for me
I just need to put in buttonholes and buttons.
Also, last week's creation has been getting a lot of wear... Sunday, Thursday and today!

a shirt for me
After making my engagement shirt dress last year, I have been contemplating making a woman's dress shirt. My first attempt last fall-modifying the bodice pattern from the aforementioned dress that fit so well-was a total disaster. I couldn't lift my arms in it!
I ripped out my old attempt and tried a new pattern from Sewaholic called the Granville Shirt with the same fabric. The pattern was published less than a month before I bought it and it sewed up beautifully.
I foresee several more of these in my future. After putting the finishing touches on this one last night, I cut fabric for another, playing the 'make it fit' game with a (much) smaller piece of fabric than the suggested yardage.

Detail: sleeve plackets, a fun, professional and surprisingly straightforward detail included in this pattern.
pattern: Sewaholic Granville Shirt, size 14
fabric: a sweet all-over pink and white floral from Grandma's fabric stash
modifications: none of note
next time: shorten sleeves by 2", do yoke topstitching closer to seam, finish interior seams with French seams.
