Christmas Project

Before Christmas, I had a lot of fun browsing fabrics in my favorite fabric store with a special project in mind. J, the aspiring veterinarian in my family, will be hanging out a lot at the veterinary clinic this spring and I decided she needed an appropriate tote for her scrubs.  Taking this messenger bag pattern for my starting point, I found a pair of adorable fabrics with assorted animals on one and dog bones and balls on the other:

Add to that some denim, a bit of canvas, a bunch of interfacing, some clear plastic lining and several hours stolen from Christmas Eve cooking (and some postponing of Christmas morning festivities) and I got...

Here's some of the details: a plastic-lined laptop sleeve (that will be great for scrubs--it can be wiped clean!) and the tiny pocket + a ribbon made-by-me!
